Beethoven’s Quartet Journey

Friday 5th May 2017 until Sunday 7th May 2017

the superb Dante String Quartet

(Krysia Osostowicz violin, Richard Jenkinson cello, Yuko Inoue viola & Oscar Perks violin) will perform all of Beethoven’s string quartets in six concerts

in Lympstone Parish Church on 5th, 6th and 7th May and 2nd, 3rd and 4th June 2017

Follow Beethoven’s personal and musical journey through his 17 quartets in the course of 6 days, over two summer weekends.  The concert series can be dipped into or enjoyed complete, giving a deeper understanding of the music and of Beethoven’s personal journey.  Treat yourself to ‘playing of spellbinding atmosphere’ as the BBC Music Magazine said of Dante Quartet, performing in what earlier visitors,  the Bridge Quartet, described as ‘the best church acoustic we have played in.’

The quartets will be introduced by actor David Timson, as Ludwig van Beethoven himself, guiding you through the composer’s life and music in his own own revealing words.
